Navratri Celebration

Navratri, major festival held in honour of the divine feminine. For many people it is a time of religious reflection and fasting, while for others it is a time for dancing and feasting. Dussehra is also collected into Navratri, an auspicious time to begin educational or artistic pursuits, especially for children.
Our Solitarians also initiated their journey towards these pursuits.

CPD Session

The recent Department-wise Interactive Panel Lesson Observation CPD session at Solitaire Global Schools, Katedan, was a resounding success! Thank you to our dedicated team for their active participation. Throughout the sessions, teachers explored innovative ways to incorporate AI into their teaching practices, making the discussions both informative and engaging. This collaborative effort fosters a vibrant learning environment and enhances our commitment to continuous professional development of our facilitators.

Importance of school

It is indeed rewarding and a proud moment for all of us when students go above and beyond the expectations. Here is a lovely paragraph written by our tiny tot of EY3 Ajax, Ethan Haokip mentioning the “Importance of school.”

Teacher’s Day Celebrations

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge.” We celebrate Teachers’ day every year throughout the country on 5th September. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for their teachers on this day. This day is dedicated to Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, the great academic philosopher, and one of the most well known diplomats, scholars, president of India and above all a teacher. As a tribute to this great teacher, his birthday has been observed as teachers’ day. So was it celebrated by Early years at Solitaire Global schools, Attapur.

Students performed a scintillating cultural show to denote their love, respect, acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards their development. The cultural show incorporated poems, songs, dance and drama. They are the cornerstone of students’ future and there’s nothing worth enough to gratify them for their selfless service and commitment. All teachers enjoyed and appreciated the program.

Field Trip – Mrugavani National Park

Field trips are exciting educational activities for both students and teachers alike. The importance of field trips is not only to build closer bonds with their classmates but also to experience new environments and enjoy their day. When we thought about spending the day by taking our little Solitarians of Early years to Mrugavani National park. It was a fun filled educational trip and the students loved seeing beautiful deer up close. The visit to the forest museum was a thrilling experience and they also had a lovely chance to connect with nature. It was a day well spent.

Grandparents Day Celebration

“Nobody can do for little children what Grandparents do. Grandparents sort of sprinkle stardust over the lives of little children.” —Alex Haley. A Salute to our Roots’ Grandparents are the family’s greatest treasure, the founders of a loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of tradition. Grandparents are the family’s strongest foundation. Through their special love and care, grandparents keep a family close to heart. To honour them, Early years, Solitaire global schools, Attapur celebrated Grandparents Day on Saturday, 14 th September 2024. The little tots of Early years came up with scintillating performances as they danced to the melodious tunes. The performances by students left the spectators spellbound and thoroughly mesmerized. The Grandparents appreciated the efforts made by SGS to make a connection between the generations through these events. The grandparents whole heartedly participated in the programmes organized by the School. The artwork done by the learners and their grandparents in the art corner were given as mementos to the grandparents. Indeed the 2024 Grandparents Day was a memorable moment for them and for us too.

Milad Un Nabi

Eid Milad-Un-Nabi is celebrated worldwide by Muslims as the birthday of the prophet of Islam, Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). The little learners of Solitaire Global schools, Attapur celebrated Eid Milad-Un-Nabi on 13^th September 2024 by presenting a very informative assembly on this auspicious occasion. 

The EY1 students came in their best traditional attire, the EY2 students presented a lovely “Naat” and the EY3 students gave very important information about the celebration and it’s importance.

“The celebration enlightened the students about the spirit of the festival, spreading the message of love and brotherhood in the young minds.”

Safari Discovery: Journey into the Animal Kingdom

At Solitaire Global Schools- Katedan , the EY-1 students embarked on an exciting project titled ” Safari Discovery: Journey into the Animal Kingdom.” Through model making, they explored various animals and their habitats, enhancing their critical thinking and creativity. This hands-on experience not only deepened their understanding of wildlife but also nurtured a passion for the natural world. The project inspired curiosity and engagement, fostering a love for learning about the diverse animal kingdom.

Fireless Cooking

‘Fireless Cooking’ activity was thoroughly enjoyed by EY students at Solitaire global schools, Katedan , they prepared a nutritious fruit salad with the help of their facilitators. The activity also helped the students learn about the different varieties of fruits. The observant tiny tots participated in the preparation process enthusiastically and relished a yummy fruit salad. This activity helped us to build their self-confidence and lay down the foundation for healthy eating habits.

Activity on AI

Exciting day at school today! Our 4th graders had a lively debate on the topic: Is AI useful? Some justified that AI makes life easier by helping with homework, while others worried it might take jobs. It was amazing to see them think critically and share their ideas with confidence! 

Healthy vs. Junk Food!

“Global Perspective Activity- Check out our Grade 4 JAM session on Healthy vs. Junk Food!  In just 60 seconds, we explored how healthy foods like fruits, veggies, and whole grains help us stay strong and full of energy .On the flip side, junk food like candy and chips might taste good, but they don’t give our bodies the fuel we need to feel our best. Remember, a balanced diet is the key to staying healthy! What’s your favorite healthy snack? Let us know in the comments!  #HealthyChoices #4thGradeFun #FoodForFuel”

Zero-Cooking & Food Waste Awareness!

Our 4th graders got creative today, learning how to reduce food waste by reusing leftovers—no cooking required! They turned leftover buns into cake, made tasty burgers, whipped up milkshakes with extra milk, and created fruit salads and smoothies using leftover fruit. They also made delicious sandwiches, refreshing lemonades, and fun mocktails from leftover ingredients! Through this hands-on activity, they learned how small actions can make a big difference for the planet. Let’s reduce, reuse, and rethink what we throw away!

MIDDLE & SECONDARY SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

Role Card Activity

Role Card- Grade 7 Amaze students did an activity in Global Perspective subject on Role Card- Each of them were given a specific role in related to tourism and migration. They did research on the advantages and disadvantages of their role and spoke about them in the class. Such Role Card activity enhances their research skills, evaluation sources and checks the credibility of the sources

Sell a Product Activity

 A sales presentation or sales pitch activity was conducted in which the learners had to speak a line or talk about their product that attempts to persuade someone or something, with a planned sales presentation strategy of a product or service designed to initiate and close a sale of the product or service.

Primary Research Activity

G7 GP Activity- Grade 7 Amaze students conducted primary research for their report. They have finalized a few questions and visited different grades and conducted surveys, based on the input they analyzed the data and represented them in graphical format for better understanding in their report.

Such activity enhances their teamwork, primary research and analyzing skills. Great effort.

Mood Board Activity

Grade 7 Amaze GP Activity- Mood Board- The students created a Mood Board- In this team activity the students selected their favorite festival, food and dress code and cartoon character. They coordinated among themselves to find common acceptable items for the Mood Board. The whole activity enhances team spirit, coordination, collaboration and tolerance towards others perspectives.   

Enactment of Active/ Good Listening skills

Grade  6 Amaze performed Active Listening activity in a pair, wherein a speaker talks about an issue and the other partner listens actively. The learners learned that : Active listening is being fully engaged while another person is talking to you. It is listening with the intent to understand the other person fully, rather than listening to respond.

Collaborative Group Activity

Students of grade 5 at Solitaire Global Schools, Katedan, recently engaged in a collaborative group activity focused on mental and physical health as a part of their GP class. They created informative posters highlighting essential tips for maintaining well-being, such as exercise, healthy eating, mindfulness, and social connections. The students proudly presented their work to the class, fostering discussions on the importance of self-care and encouraging their peers to prioritize both mental and physical health in their daily lives.

Publishing a Book – “An Interstellar Hijacking”

Aarav Kamble from 7 Ajax made a remarkable achievement by publishing a book called “An Interstellar Hijacking” and won the title of published author by “Bri Books”. Many Congratulations to the learner.

Student Parliament

We concluded our school level PRS Student Parliament on 31st Aug 2024 between 9 am to 2 pm. A rigorous 5 hour long experiential learning process was like a simulative experience. It was an incredible platform, well organised and guided, for the students to get an exposure to bills, policy and stakeholder responsibilities of members of parliament. 

They were able to unlock their potentials of research, framing questions, active participation, content clarity and managing the system through written rules. Working in 16 different teams representing 8 ministries and playing the role of 8 opposing teams in the Question hour they represented their departments well. Some learning on the role and some getting sensitive with the questions being asked and answered. Some enhanced their writing skills through a recording process. 

Special Assembly – Raksha Bandhan

There are great stories and parables of sacrifices of sisters and brothers for the bond that they carry in their hearts for each other. The bond shared between a brother and sister is one of life’s most unique and profound relationships. It’s a blend of deep-rooted love, shared experiences, and, at times, even comical irritations.

Today when the toddlers at Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur explored this bond for the Special Assembly of Raksha Bandhan, they opened the bottle of memories and possibilities for the future to come. Let this bond of “Brothers and Sisters” be enhanced everywhere.

EARLY YEARS ACTIVITIES

Reading rabbits

It’s often said that ‘Books are the window to the world’ and people who are constantly reading can’t agree with the adage anymore. Reading enhances one’s knowledge, helps improve communication skills, and inculcates holistic development. To develop an interest in our tiny tots of Early Years, Attapur, and the value of reading books even in an era dominated by the internet, we celebrated ‘Reading Rabbit’, as a part of Reading Day.

The students conveyed the importance of reading to their friends and we had the lovely 10th-grade students volunteer to read out story books to our little ones. The tiny tots visited the school library where the librarian interacted with the learners explaining the fun and exciting part of regular reading. The students thoroughly enjoyed the activity and so did the seniors.

Independence Day celebrations

“Freedom is not what you get, it is what you make of it.”

On the 15^th of August, 2022, we at Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur, celebrated our 78th Independence Day with fanfare and zeal.  The program started with a lovely parade by the learners and was carried further by programs conducted right from Early years to grade 10. The patriotic spirit was at its pinnacle when the learners of Early Years presented a fantastic dance performance followed by a cute fancy dress by Early Years 1 munchkin. As we brought an end to this day, we could all ruminate on a thought. Rather than celebrating our freedom on just one day every year, let us uncover our patriotism every single day of our lives and help build our nation into a strong and aatmanirbhar Bharat! Jai Hind!

Janmashtami Celebrations

The learners of Early Years Attapur celebrated Krishna Janmashtami on Friday, August 23, 2024. Janmashtami is celebrated as a symbol of the end of darkness and rooting out evil forces.

A splendid and colorful performance by the Students of KG 2, depicting the birth of Lord Krishna with a message of victory of good over evil. Students truly communicated the message that “Every moment of life is worth a Celebration. The more you praise and celebrate life, the more there is in life to celebrate.” Children came dressed in ethnic wear as Radha and Krishna. The presentation depicted the varied images of life from birth to manhood transporting one to the world of splendour, colour, myth, and legend. It was a beautiful presentation with a joyous melody and twirling dancers.

Activity on National Symbols

National symbols play an active role in representing our country’s identity, values, culture, strength, pride and history . The students learned what our national symbols are. Knowing about the national symbols of India is an important aspect of student’s education.

Basic Concepts of ICT, Science, and Mathematics

To showcase how young learners in grades 1 to 3 are beginning to explore and understand the basic concepts of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Science, and Mathematics through fun, hands-on activities and interactive learning. Learning to Use a Computer:* Plant Growth Observation:* Animal Habitats:* At this young age, learning is all about discovery and exploration. Through these projects, students in grades 1 to 3 are not only developing their basic ICT, Science, and Math skills but also cultivating curiosity and a love for learning. These activities are designed to be interactive, fun, and engaging, ensuring that foundational concepts are learned in a playful and memorable way.

Raksha Bandhan Celebration

Raksha Bandhan is an Indian festival that celebrates sibling relationships. Sisters tie a ‘rakhi’ on their brothers’ wrists, representing love and protection. In return, brothers promise to protect their sisters and offer gifts.

Exploring 3D Models of the Human Body in the Lab

This week, our grade 4 learners had the exciting opportunity to explore 3D models of the human body’s internal organs and skeletal system in the science lab. These hands-on sessions allowed them to gain a deeper understanding of human anatomy in an interactive and engaging way. By examining detailed 3D models, students were able to visualize the intricate structures of the heart, lungs, liver, and more, as well as the bones that form our skeletal system. This experience not only enhanced their learning but also sparked curiosity and appreciation for the complexity of the human body.

Specialist Role

Global Perspective students of grade-8 worked as a team to achieve a shared goal – Better travel option- In this activity each team has opened a travel company and each member has been allocated a specialist role to run the company in a profitable and yet sustainable way.

 They formed a mind-map of their specialist roles and presented them in sequential manner.

Special Assembly By Teachers

Morning Assembly brings the entire whole together as a family. It is the beginning of each day which establishes a positive tone for teachers and students. With the commencement of another year 2024-25, the teachers from Grades 1 to 12 hosted the Special Welcome Assembly to extend a hearty welcome to the students and to mark the beginning of the new session.

The rehearsals started one week before the event to make it a success. The assembly started with a lot of positivity with a lovely song, followed by an energetic dance, and ended with the National Anthem. The Academic head and Vice principal addressed the students with their words of wisdom and motivated the students to work hard to accomplish their goals and make their new friends comfortable. Students were indeed rejuvenated and enthused to see the affection of their teachers towards them. It was surely a significant assembly.

Welcome Back To School

A good beginning makes a good ending’

The beginning of a new session is always a crucial time – a time for new hopes and renewed dreams. After summer vacation, it’s time to enter the school with new energy and fresh new vibes.
Early years, Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur welcomed the tiny tots with an engaging assembly led by none other than the teaching faculty.
They showcased a lovely dance, a skit based on class rules followed by a mind-blowing magic show.
The learners thoroughly enjoyed the fun activities with the facilitators and their favorite character mascots.
It just doesn’t end here…They further enjoyed welcome back-to-school games and went back home with lovely souvenirs as takeaways.
Indeed it was a day well spent!

Parent Orientation

An orientation Programme was held for the parents of Early years 1, 2 & 3 was held on Saturday 15th June 2024. It was a productive day for the parents and the teachers, who had a chance to interact with each other before the beginning of the new session.

The Academic Coordinator, Early Years Ms. Afshan Khan, warmly welcomed the parents and assured them of the school’s commitment to ensuring their child’s growth and development. The school rules and the assessment scheme were explained in detail to ensure that the parents were prepared for the academic year.  They were given small activities to experience how the learners are involved in hands-on activities to understand every concept taught in class.

The aim of the orientation Programme was to ensure that the parents were at ease about the transition of the students from HOME – EY1 – EY2 – EY3 and a warm interaction between the parents and the teachers ensured the same.

Eid ul Adha

Eid ul Adha, the festival that upholds the spirit of brotherhood, love and secularism, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of Early Years, Solitaire Global schools, Attapur. Through their performances, the tiny tots brought out the significance of Eid,  speaking a few sentences on the importance of Eid ul Adha and a spectacular dance performance. The spirit of Eid was well-flaunted by the students. 

Community Helpers Special Assembly

A community is a group of people who share services, buildings, and laws. It is also a place where people live. A community can be a school, town, city, or neighbourhood. Community helpers are people who live and work in our communities. Community helpers make communities cleaner, safer, and more pleasant for other people.
This topic is important as it brings home to children for a lot of reasons such as safety, thoughtfulness, and understanding the way the world works. It teaches them to address the people in our neighbourhood, mingle with them by asking their names, and try to show them that they should feel safe and that these people take care of us.
With these objectives to be achieved, Community Helper Day was organized in the Solitaire Global schools, Attapur for Early years students on 21st June 2024. They were dressed up as nurses, policemen, doctors, soldiers, vegetable vendor farmers, and teachers. They presented their views happily and said that they were proud to be dressed as community helpers and loved their jobs.

PRIMARY ACTIVITIES

Safety Devices

The survey was administered for Grade 4 students. It included questions about the location and purpose of various safety devices for emergency situations within the school premises. About 90% of students were aware of the location of these emergency equipment in their school premises. And also understood the purpose of these equipment in an emergency situation.

Artificial Satellites

Learners of Grade 4 researched ‘How do satellites help people prepare for natural disasters and much more about Artificial Satellites practically by preparing models of it.

MIDDLE & SECONDARY ACTIVITIES

Parent Orientation

The Parent orientation session for high school was conducted on 15^th June 2024. Parents were given an insight into the vision and mission, the developmental pillars that are unique to the school, and how these pillars were blended beautifully into the school curriculum.

The Academic head introduced the team members comprising the coordinators and teachers. They were oriented on the curriculum which focuses on the holistic development of a child encompassing academics, art education, health and physical education, and skills education. A brief update of an overview of the academic year was presented giving clarity into assessment patterns, assignments for students, and the preparedness of the school for the reopening in due course.

Through one-on-one interaction, parents received it positively and were very happy to go through the planning of teachers which was a beautiful amalgamation of scholastic, co-scholastics, and values, thus representing Solitaire Global schools’ model for holistic development of the learners.

Model Making

Grade 9 EVM students- Activity- Model making of mining equipment.

The students participated with great enthusiasm in making models of mining equipment, as at SGS we emphasized more hands-on activities-based teaching. Such model-making gives them a deeper understanding of the topics and makes them lifelong learners.

Sahaja Yoga & Music Day

Focusing your attention and awareness on your breath as you meditate and listen to music are the two most enhancing and peaceful activities we do in our daily lives.
They give a sneak peek into your subconscious and deal with hidden emotions. It provides the energy to enhance your life. It balances your mood. And what more than celebrating a meditative-music day.
We have taken a step ahead by letting our body, mind, and soul align on this World Yoga and Music Day.

Making of Windmill

Hands-on activity- Grade 7 students of GP made the model of the windmill- which generates renewable energy with the help of wind. This group activity enhances the skill of structuring information and collaboration.

Marketplace

As we have observed the marketplace in our society where we buy/sell items based on our requirements and observation keeping communication as a medium of activity. Today students of Grade 8 GP performed the activity of Marketplace in class. Through this task, students will enhance various skills like- 1. Leadership skills, 2. Knowledge, 3. Observation skill, 4. Reading and writing skills, 5. Time-management 6. Collaboration

TYE Workshop – IIIT Hyderabad

Opening keynote session by – Phanindra Sama. The founder of redbus and co- founder of kakatiya sand box. Shared the difficulties he faced in establishing red bus.com and soulutions he made out of technology. He also inspired students for new entrepreneurial ideas using technology. Another keynote session by Sricharan Lakkaraju, founder of CEO of student tribe and stumagz organisation inspiring us on how the communities help him build organisations particularly based on students and role of student communities. The next key note session on Writing world and writing media, Mr. Madan Mohan Rao. He himself wrote many books and stories and published them successfully, he gave a class on how to reach the goals in writing field.

Open Mic Sessions by Youngsters Ms. Sanika on Organ Donation at large scale, Mr. Sriyash Mohan topper in ITT JEE Mains and Advanced also having medals in Archery. He was speaking about how sports helped him in studies inspiring the young generation. Next was AI Master class by Bhatt Dittakavi, who explained entire life cycle of the AI and prompt engineering, Machine learning, Neural Networks etc.. It was very inspiring for  AI and engineering aspirants. Mental health is very important these days. Session by Dr. Srilakshmi Pingali who talked about stress management classes, ways for mental fitness etc. Mr. Santosh Dora in the Animation class with all the practical ways to enter in to the field of animation and illusions of 3d world. Gaming session master class by Mr. Rahul Segal was one of the most interesting session where the gaming devices were brought to the hall to experience the gaming activities and understanding the device components. Next we had a trip on Makeafair programs where lot of new innovative ideas were shown by students from different schools. Visit to T-HUB and T-Works, it was an amazing experience to see the campus and how it helps students with zeal to achieve can turn into  young entrepreneurs and achieve their goals. Young achievers panel introduction was done in the next session by three dignitaries Himanshu, Rajpurohit, Dhriti, Neha Santhanapalli. Shared all experiences in different field of work. Next master class was on Robotics conducted by Chairman of All Indian Robotics Association, CEO of H-Bots Robotics. The experience was enchanting, inspiring and motivating to us as students.

CDP Session on JIGSAW: A collective learning strategy by Ms. Afshan, Coordinator, Early Years

A stimulating classroom environment requires a skilled teacher with this in mind, a workshop on “Benefits of Hands-on activities” was conducted by Ms. Afshan Khan, Early Years Coordinator, Solitaire Global Schools on 27th May 2024.
The workshop aimed at sharing information and techniques to manage large activity-based classrooms with limited time and budgets, balancing the time-tested traditional strengths of our educational system with modern classroom techniques. The teachers were not only informed about the latest methodologies used in teaching but also got involved in creating learning material.
At the end of the training, the teachers learned to empower classroom resources and how to use them to the optimum advantage to achieve specific educational goals. They also portrayed a reflection of what they had absorbed from the session.

CDP Session on Gallery Walk- Collaborative Learning by Ms. Afroz, Coordinator, Grades 1, 2 & 3

The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) session focused on the importance and implementation of hands-on activities in teaching. The session aimed to equip teachers with practical skills and strategies to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes through interactive and experiential learning methods.

CDP Session on Experiential Learning by Mr. Manikanta, HOD – Maths, ICT, Science

The workshop conducted by Mr. Manikanta, HOD for the Mathematics department on 29th May 2024 was to focus on teaching teachers the concepts that they teach – through hands-on activities so that they can take them to classrooms.
The teachers thoroughly enjoyed the session and took along many activities that they could conduct in the class to make all the sessions more interactive and engaging for the learners.

CDP Session on The Importance of Differentiation by Dr. Rizwana, Academic Head

On 31st May 2024, a workshop for differentiated learning was conducted by Dr. Rizwana, Academic head, of Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur. This was conducted for the teachers to understand the importance of differentiation among students that is important while teaching. The workshop was built on the four fundamental components of differentiated instruction: content, process (instructional strategies & assessment), product (modes of expression), and learning environment, and added a scaffolding of tools, methods, and strategies for each of those pillars.
The teachers were asked to present their reflections at the end of the session and also demonstrate the use of the strategy in their upcoming classes for the benefit of the learners.

CDP Session on Effective handling of wellbeing sessions by Ms. Poornima, Vice principal

In alignment with Cambridge’s updated coursed, SGS introduced wellbeing for students from EY – G 12 to discuss and deal with issues concerning to their physical, mental and digital wellbeing. A hands on CPD session was conducted by the Vice Principal to orient the faculty on making the sessions more effective and ensure holistic development for the learners.

As we have observed a market place in our society where we buy/sell items based on our requirement and observation keeping communication as a medium of activity, our students will perform the task in group as this task will enhance their – 1. Leadership skills 2. Knowledge 3. Observation skills 4. Reading and Writing skills 5. Time Management and 6. Collaboration

As a part of the task- students will be divided into groups and assigned a team leader for each group, the team leader will communicate and will distribute the task and responsibility to the team members. The team members will work on the topic given and will also visit another group member’s desk and will write their findings on the topic, later on they will put up a paper tent to display their findings and will speak about the findings of other teams.

Sharing Best Practices on Position, Movement and Direction by Ms. Renuka & Ms. Farhat

Differentiated learning in the mathematics topics of position, movement, and direction involves tailoring instructional methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students. This approach ensures that all students, regardless of their ability levels, can understand and engage with these concepts.
Four activities were carried out during the hands-on activity session , to make the learners understand the topic in the best possible way and the activities were in increasing order of difficulty starting from simpler activities to complex level activities. By using these differentiated strategies, teachers can create a more inclusive and effective learning environment that addresses the diverse needs of their students in the topics of position, movement, and direction.

Sharing Best Practices on Components of blood by Mr. Ghouse

To begin with a video of blood cells to extract the topic introduce the topic in a student centric way. A group discussion was suggested to write about their findings looking at the video played. To check prior knowledge, a set of 6 questions and were asked group wise. With some explanation we proceeded towards making a blood vessel. They used they creativity to make it the model more attractive. Conceptual explanation, was given. The session concluded with crossword puzzle. All members participated actively.

Sharing Best Practices on Innovative Methods for Teaching Grammar in English by Ms. Romana

The micro-teaching session with Ms.Romana, our English facilitator for grades 3 and 4, was a fruitful session for all of us. She introduced innovative methods for teaching grammar in English, transforming a typically serious aspect of a language into an engaging and playful learning experience. She played grammar games that were not done using any books or explanations. Instead these games were played with commands, action and voice intonations. This approach captivated everyone’s attention and participation!
Ms. Romana also encouraged other language teachers, whether they teach Telugu, Urdu, Hindi, or French, to adopt these games and techniques to help children understand the mechanics of a language. She kept everyone interested and engaged throughout the lesson by introducing a variety of activities that covered a wide range of topics from grammar including prepositions, adjectives, adverbs, nouns, and articles.

The micro teaching session conducted by EY Group teachers on Fun way of learning. In this session we included number of activities like Integrating Jigsaw , Gallery walk and blocks to understand the concept in more interesting way. Also involving learners in the activity and inculcating the same in the class. The learners persuade interest . Various levels of Blooms Taxonomy were applied. Concepts were understood faster and with ease.

A film review is a critique of a film, encompassing various aspects such as the plot, themes, direction, script, and performances. This was demonstrated by activities including group discussion, peer interaction and displaying review writing.

Sharing Best Practices on Parts of Speech-Verbs by Ms. Padmavati

Parts of Speech-Verbs: A word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence. Demonstration of verbs with a starter activity, Anthakshari-with words, Activities on board and worksheets led the active participation of the audience.

Sharing Best Practices on Transformation by Mr. Sidhant Joshi

A geometric transformation would mean to make some changes in any given geometric shape. It is often useful in mathematics to see things in different perspectives. You see geometric transformations every minute of every day: whenever you walk around an object, you see a rotation. When you see an image of an object, it is a projection. When you move an object, you see a translation. When you look in a mirror, you see a reflection.

Information Technology is a worldwide accepted educational instrument designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the educational system. Computers are mainly used to improve the learning system. Students can use formulas and functions to solve real-world problems, reinforcing their understanding of mathematical principles. Excel is a powerful tool for storing data and crunching numbers—if you know how to use it. Hand on experience provided to teachers for better understanding of Excel and use number of formulas and functions in their professional field.

Sharing Best Practices on Reading comprehension & Report Writing by Mr. Santosh

Reading comprehension: This is the ability to process written text, understand its meaning, and integrate it with what the reader’s knowledge. This is demonstrated live to the audience.

Writing- Report Writing: This is a writing task of 120–160 words of continuous prose, in response to the rubric. The rubric includes information on the format of the response, its purpose and audience. A more formal response is required.

The session helped everyone to understand the gist of report writing using the correct technique.

First Day of School

Making Memories on their First Day at Solitaire Global Schools. Our tiniest tots at Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur, had a fantastic first day filled with excitement and FUN! They explored, learned, and played through engaging activities, both indoors and outdoors: Creative play: Building blocks, colouring, and more!
Outdoor adventures: Slides, swings, and laughter in the fresh air.
Memorable take-aways: These little masterpieces will forever remind them of their special first day!
We can’t wait to see their journey of learning and growth unfold throughout the year!

Ugadi Celebrations

Our young learners at Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur went all out to celebrate Ugadi. From learning about the significance of the festival to putting on a fantastic dance performance, they truly had a blast! 

It’s so heartwarming to see our students, from Early Years to Grade 3, come together and enjoy such a special day.

Healthy Eating Habits

Solitaire Global Schools recently held a special assembly on the significance of healthy eating habits in the early years. Our learners showcased the importance of nutritious food through engaging acts like dance, speeches, and songs, spreading awareness about the impact of healthy eating.
We believe that instilling these habits early on is crucial for a lifetime of good health. Let’s continue to promote healthy eating in our community and set a positive example for the next generation. Together, we can make a difference!

Parent Orientation

The Parent induction session conducted at Solitaire Global schools, Attapur for grades EY1 to grade 3 provided an opportunity for educators to build trust and rapport with parents. By welcoming them into the educational setting and sharing information about the school’s vision, values, and teaching methodologies, parents gain confidence in the school’s commitment to their child’s well-being. The event was followed by an interactive session between the parents, facilitators and Academic coordinators.

Eid ul Fitr Celebrations

Eid ul Fitr, the festival that upholds the spirit of brotherhood, love, and secularism, was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the students of the Early Years & grades 1, 2, and 3. Through their performances, the learners brought out the significance of Eid. The spirit of Eid was well imbibed by the students. The dance performance on the tunes of Qawwali filled the environment with happiness and love.

Nature Walk

A nature Walk, as the name suggests, is walking through nature while sensing the atmosphere around – smelling the air, listening to sounds, and feeling the touches of the rocks, leaves, trees, mud, or anything. Nature walks for kids are as important as it is for grown-ups. This is how our tiny tots of early years began their day with a lovely stroll from the school to the nearest park exploring every inch and enjoying the surroundings with their friends and teachers.

Ice Breakers and More..

At the beginning of an academic year, the tiny toddlers are trained to get adjusted to the surroundings through various icebreaker activities. More focus is given to the development of fine and gross motor skills. Here’s a look at how the learners were engaged throughout the Early years.

Fun with letters

Kids identified letters and learnt the sounds of letters. Learners enjoyed the activity in a playful method.

Water ? Squeezing Activity

Toddlers enjoy the Water- Squeezing Activity, which strengthen and develop hands and arm mobility and coordination. Kids has a lot of fun during this activity!

Activity on Identifying the Numbers

Recognizing numbers is a vital skill and it helps students to develop mathematical skills. Kids learnt to identify numbers in a playful method.

English Activity

Learners arranged themselves according to the first letter of their names . Learning objective to identify the alphabetical order.

Exploring Mime: A Creative Journey in Non-Verbal Communication

Introduction:
In this engaging mime activity, Grade 3 students embarked on a creative journey to explore the art of non-verbal communication. Through imaginative play and expression, students discovered the power of body language, facial expressions, and gestures in conveying emotions and telling stories without words. Learning Objectives: Develop an understanding of non-verbal communication. Enhance creativity and imagination through expressive movement. Practice empathy by interpreting and portraying various emotions. Improve confidence in public performance and presentation – Students express various emotions (happy, sad, surprised, angry, etc.) through exaggerated facial expressions and body language. Conclusion: Through this mime activity, Grade 3 students have embarked on a journey of creativity and expression. By exploring the art of non-verbal communication, they have not only developed their mime skills but also gained a deeper understanding of emotions, storytelling, and the power of body language.

GP- Activity

Grade 3 learners visited the printer room to find out the uses of printer in the school .

Science Activity: POSTER making on Scientific Enquiry.

MIDDLE & SECONDARY ACTIVITIES

GP Fieldwork Activity

Global Perspective Activity on Fieldwork Related to Plastic Pollution.
Grade 7 Alpha students did fieldwork on plastic pollution. During this activity, students went to the neighboring community to identify the type of plastic waste dumped in the open area. This hands-on activity will enhance their survey and interpreting skills, and they will gain first-hand knowledge regarding the types of plastic waste in our society.

Investigating Pulse Rate

Grade 7 students checked their pulse before and after exercising. They counted how many times their heart beat in 15 seconds and then multiplied it by 4 to find the beats per minute (BPM). After exercising, their BPM usually went up because their body needed more oxygen. This activity showed them how exercise affects their heart and why staying active is important for a healthy heart.

“Precision Through Pendulum: Averaging Small Distances & Time Intervals”

Students of grade 9 determined an average value for a small distance and for a short interval of time by calculating the period of oscillation of a pendulum by observing its oscillations and recording the time required for 10 swings. This period signifies the time taken for the pendulum to complete one full swing, serving as a fundamental metric for measuring smaller distances or intervals.
To enhance accuracy, students conducted multiple measurements and computed the average period. This systematic approach minimizes errors and yields a more reliable representation of the pendulum’s behaviour.

GP Activity

“GP Task- Individual activity- Grade 7 Ajax learners have done research on the types of waste generated from residential homes. They have collected samples of dry waste and earmarked them by categorizing them. It enhances their research skills and awareness skillset.”

Communication is an essential asset enabling humankind to forge an advanced civilization. Using languages from the Stone Age to our present digital information society, humans have connected and collaborated to accomplish remarkable feats. As the newly dawned Space Age progresses, learners are attempting to communicate with intelligent species beyond our world, on distant planets and in Earth’s far future..

Preparing Goods

Learner’s activity on a coordinated system of preparing goods for transport, warehousing, logistics, sale, and use i.e Packaging. They realised that packaging is the science, art and technology of enclosing or protecting products for distribution .”

The most awaited event of the year “Early Years Graduation Day” at Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur was held on 16th March 2024, Saturday. With the unwavering support and guidance of our management we were able to put forth a successful show. It was an eventful day of celebrating the young Solitarian’s success and achievement of a milestone in their life. The day was filled with enthusiasm and enthralling performances by the EYP students from being compares and orators to singers and dancers. The feedback from parents was an added feather to the hat.
Here’s wishing the little stars shine bright in their upcoming grades too.

International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day is celebrated globally on March 8 every year to celebrate the contribution of women in various spheres of life be it social, economic, political, or cultural contributions that women have made to the society. At Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur too Women’s Day was celebrated as a show of respect towards its lady staff members. There were fun activities planned for women faculties followed by an exuberant lunch be all male staff members. It was an occasion to recognize the efforts of the extraordinary women-the teaching and non-teaching staff who demonstrate acts of kindness, compassion, leadership, and determination. The significance of the day taught our students that the world needs to be free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. A world that’s diverse, equitable, and inclusive. A place where difference is valued and equality is celebrated.

National Women’s Day

National Women’s Day special assembly addressed the birth anniversary of “Nightingale of India” Sarojini Naidu. Students presented a skit to recognize and honor the contributions and achievements of women in all fields.

EARLY YEARS ACTIVITIES

EY PTM

Excellence in education and fostering the love of learning is the hallmark of this Annual PTM held at Solitaire Global Schools, Attapur on 22nd March 2024. This parent teacher meeting is to acknowledge the success achieved by the sheer hardwork and perseverance of our little stars under the expert guidance of their respective mentors. We felt elated to share that the tiny tots passed with flying colors and congratulated everyone for their wonderful achievements in the session. Parents were given feedback on their ward’s performances and it  was a great interaction between the teacher and the parents for the development of their children where they discussed both the strengths and areas of improvements. The progress report shown to the parents and their suggestions were noted. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that joint effort, mutual understanding and co-operation of parents and teachers is very important for the proper nourishment and progress of students.

World Pulses Day

Early years toddlers celebrated “World Pulses Day” on 9th February 2024 highlighting the importance and nutritional value of pulses. Pulses comprise dry peas, beans, lentils, lupins, and chickpeas which contain proteins, minerals, and vitamins in high quantities. They were super excited to sow some pulses and are eagerly waiting to see it grow in a few days…

Story Telling and Puppet Show

Storytelling is the social and cultural activity of sharing stories, sometimes with improvisation, theatricality, or embellishment. Every culture has its own stories or narratives that are shared as a means of entertainment, education, cultural preservation, or instilling moral values.  Crucial elements of stories and storytelling include plot, characters, and narrative point of view. The term “storytelling” can refer specifically to oral storytelling but also broadly to techniques used in other media to unfold or disclose the narrative of a story. Here’s a look at how Early Years, Solitaire Global Schools enjoyed the special assembly conducted for Storytelling and puppet shows.

Movie Time

Transforming a classroom into a real cinema hall was one of the most exciting experiences for both learners and teachers. The whole school was fascinated to see how our tiny tots of Early years enjoyed Movie time in their classrooms. From getting tickets to seating, popcorn to juices they had a wonderful experience of watching their favourite animated movie. A lovely special assembly was held wherein the students did a role play for people associated with making a movie. From director, and script writer to actors, they had it all explained.

Energy Conservation Day

Use energy wisely, and make the future bright. With this beautiful thought, students of Early Years presented a special assembly to understand the significance of the need to conserve energy. Energy Conservation Day was celebrated on 23rd Feb 2024. It was a day for building awareness regarding energy conservation, energy efficiency, and frugality in energy use. Our young learners spoke about the importance of energy and its conservation and focused on saving it for future usage. They also discussed the measures that should be exerted to conserve energy as saving energy reduces the pollution level, They recited poems and created informative posters with motivational slogans like “Save today, survive tomorrow,” followed by a lovely dance and visit to classes and management to spread the message. In the end, they pledged a wholehearted commitment to energy conservation.

Thematic Exhibit

An energetic day for the Early years with PTM and Thematic exhibits going hand in hand. Students demonstrated their projects with confidence and enthusiasm. The event was appreciated by the parents and they were excited to see the seeds turning to saplings that were sowed by the little ones.

Clock Activity

Learning to read the clock helps kids grasp the abstract concept of time. This activity exercises their brains and develops a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts. The kiddos had great fun learning from the clock.

Curl Up With a Good Book

Early reading ignites creativity, sparks curiosity, and stimulates the imagination of young children. Often, this leads to role-play as children grow which helps to develop other skills such as empathy, problem-solving, and morality.

MIDDLE AND SECONDARY ACTIVITIES

Virtual Student Exchange Program

Students of Solitaire Global School- Attapur had an International School Exchange Programme with an International School in Cameroon (Virtual mode). Our students interacted with the middle school students studying in South Africa. It was remarkable and memorable session for our school. Our students came to know about African culture, learning style, and customs, similarly the students of Cameroon were delighted to know many details of our country- India and SGS teaching methodology, our student’s hobbies and co-curricular activities.

It was indeed an engaging interactive session for students of both the institutions as they enjoyed the event that proved knowledge and communication has no limitations.
